Studio Notes
A mellow, multi style mix up tune very similar to The Journey Beyond. However this tune was written a long time before ‘The journey Beyond’ but has some similarities in the fact that it actually takes a journey though several different styles/tunes. If you want a long and not-so upbeat relaxing tune, then i can recommend both this and The Journey Beyond.
Original release note, MP3.com 1998
Created in 1998 on the Roland XP60 and is recorded playing back in realtime from the synthesizer (no independent audio tracks)- Similar workstation to that of Mike Oldfield at the time. This track has not been released for a long time due to the fact the original studio recording was utterly broken. This is a restoration effort that hopefully fixes the issues in the original recording. Its better late than never!
If there are clipping bugs in this let me know, my hearing isn’t as good as it used to be.
This track is the prequel to “The Journey Beyond”, that was released some time after Journey has been created.
Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells 3 had just come out and this track incorporates a bit of a remix of that towards the end. It was an amazing album and it blew my mind that for the first time we’d both got the same identical sound engines in our synths (the Roland JV engine).
This track is only available for free download and streaming from Soundcloud due to the derivative nature of the last part.
