Why did you make it? 🤔
To have fun making music that would amuse my girlfriend. On the 23rd February 2022 we celebrated our 24th year together, so it worked!
When? 😯
“Meow Meow Meow Kitty Song” was originally created in a small home studio on 31st March 2004 and shared with a few friends online. It was officially released to the general public in February 2022, however somewhere along the line somebody shared the MP3 and it ended up going viral and has been unintentionally illegally included in many Roblox games.
The now popular Redux version originally made its appearance in 2008, it went viral in 2012 after being picked up on YouTube, though that was cut short due to the intentional deletion of the YouTube channel, as well as the Soundcloud.
what happened to the original video? 😿
The original video was lost when the YouTube channel was intentionally deleted. The original file wasn’t on any backups so it should have been gone for good. However, a most excellent YouTube user had made a screen-recording of the video and put it back on YouTube. I found it by pure chance and managed to recycle it and re-upload the one that is online today.
By 2012, the original video had over 504,000 views with over 2100 likes. My “error” certainly had consequences however both of the songs are now enjoyed worldwide now that they have been properly (and confidently) released.

Why Is the cat so ugly? 😝
The original cat face design that came out with the V2008 track was atrocious simply due to having to learn a completely new skill to make videos. The result was thrown together with quickly mouse-painted frames just to get the tune out of the door- I did not anticipate that it would become popular at all. Oops. The 2022 redesign is a lot nicer on the eyes, at least they are now looking in the same direction! Of course, it could be worse:
