Staggered Polling
I thought I would look into addressing this before the HF paradigm gets somewhat saturated with unattended automated polls, which is not great if propagation isn’t carefully monitored.
This experimental example schema splits up 8 different stations poll times into a staggered polling schedule that attempts to poll the stations once every two hours with two attempts each time 5 minutes apart.
The forwarding mechanism will normally try twice, but if an attempt to connect takes too long it could miss the next trigger, as the 5 minutes is from the end of the previous disconnect.
Schema
If interested in unattended HF forwarding, its possible to use finer granularity to achieve a polling setup that does not collide with everyone else doing their basic on-the-hour every hour polling
The following PDF document is an example HF first, AXIP backup system designed by PE1RRR.
