ARDOP
A new document has been published to help with addressing ARDOP latency issues that may cause links to NAK/fail constantly while using certain audio device driver configurations under Linux.
Combined audio device configurations are often necessary for the multi-purpose gateways running ARDOP and several other TNCs such as packet and βVARA under Wineβ, unfortunately this introduces a small amount of latency into the system which can affect ARDOP performance.
This solution may also address the anomalous NAK issue experienced by some Linux users, but this has not yet been confirmed.
The ARDOP Latency Mitigation document is located here.
VARA
Additionally some systems may benefit from performance enhancements such as those for the Raspberry Pi4, after an investigation into latency issues under certain conditions with a specific combination of VARA TNCs on the air. That document can be found here.
